The National Inspection Council for Electricians Installations Contractors (NICEIC) is the UK’s leading voluntary regulatory body for the electrical contracting industry. It has been assessing the electrical competence of electricians for nearly sixty years and currently maintains a roll of over 26,000 registered contractors. NICEIC has developed a reputation amongst consumers, specifiers of work and industry for promoting safety, integrity and technical excellence.

NICEIC contractors must go through a rigorous assessment process in order to be approved. The assessment covers a representative sample of their work, their premises, documentation, equipment, and the competence of their key supervisory staff. NICEIC contractors are then re-assessed on a regular basis to ensure continued compliance.
