This week the Winstanley Electrical team has installed a pre-start alarm on a bagging conveyor at Tarmac’s Wrexham site. We have programmed the pre-start alarm to give audio and visual warnings when the conveyor is about to start.

The installation included high-bay LED fittings positioned to provide even light distribution across storage areas, workstations, and loading zones. The result is a cleaner, brighter environment with reduced glare and shadowing—ideal for precision work and safety compliance. The Results Following completion, the factory achieved an immediate improvement in lighting quality and energy efficiency. Compared to traditional fluorescent or halogen systems, LED technology has significantly lowered electricity consumption and reduced the need for frequent bulb replacements. The accreditation and to be recognized as a safe contractor who has an excellent health and safety procedure. The SafeContractor Accreditation was initially developed as a bespoke project for Property Management clients who wished to outsource the annual vetting of contractors on its approved list. Interest shown by other clients identified the potential for a standardized system that could be offered to the whole company's client base. The SafeContractor scheme provides a health and safety audit service for contractors who want to reassure their clients that health and safety is being handled correctly and sufficiently on their sites. Alcumus qualified auditors review contractor’s health and safety policies, procedures and documentation, taking into consideration the trade, industry sector and business size. As a result, Alcumus SafeContractor safety audits are tailored to assess whether there is suitable and sufficient health and safety compliance within a contractor.
